专家简历 C. Jerry Nelson received his B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Minnesota and the Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin. He joined the University of Missouri faculty in 1967, retired in 2007 and currently is Professor Emeritus of Plant Science. He has written 28 book chapters, edited seven books and published more than 200 research papers mainly on growth and development of forage crops, and more recently on international food issues. Dr. Nelson was elected President of the Crop Science Society of America (in 1988) and the American Society of Agronomy (in 1996). He provided leadership to form the series of International Crop Science Congresses and was elected to the 4-year term as the first President of the International Crop Science Society (from 2000-2004). In retirement, Dr. Nelson frequently visits South Korea, Vietnam, China, North Korea and several countries in Africa. There he gives lectures, meets students and develops research partnerships with a broad range of Universities and Research Institutes.
